Top five mysterious cases in Asia

In 2013, a Chinese-Canadian girl, Eliza Lam, mysteriously died in Los Angeles, raising huge disputes in many countries, including China. The tragedy took place in a hotel related to many famous murders in the history of LA. According to the surveillance video at the time of the crime, the victim behaved strangely in an elevator. Several days later, her corpse was found in a water tank of the hotel. The eerie truth of what happened is still uncertain.

Two Americans have made a documentary to show the public their results after three year’s field investigation and collecting information on the strange case.

Besides the incident of Elisa Lam, other mysterious cases have happened in the past. Here we list the top five mysterious cases that happened in Asia.

• Shenmu gas station 

One day at around three o’clock in the morning, a woman drove a red car to refuel at a gas station in Shenmu county, Shaanxi province, China. The next day, when staff settled the account, they found that the money the woman gave was funeral money. However, from the surveillance video that night, it can clearly be seen that the money was Yuan. What is even weirder is that several days later, the woman died. 

• Clocks stopping in Shimane, Japan

On the morning Dec 16, 2013, office clerks of Shimane found that all the clocks in their offices and the whole buildings had stopped ticking. The hands of the clocks all pointed to 1:35.

• Boy in red

On Nov 5, 2009, a 13-year-old boy was found dead at home, but circumstances of the scene were very strange. He wore a red dress with his hands and feet tied tightly. He was hung on the roof girder with his feet hanging heavily. The police investigated the case. However, existing evidence still cannot give a complete explanation.

• 330 bus in Beijing

Late on Nov 14, 1995, a 330 bus in Beijing began its last drive from The Old Summer Palace bus terminal. On the bus, there were a young ticket seller and an older driver. The next day, the bus terminal found that the bus with the ticket seller and driver had disappeared. Three days later, the police found the bus near the Miyun reservoir, more than 100 kilometers away from Fragrant Hills. In the bus fuel tank, there was blood rather than gasoline. Authenticity or fallacy of the case has still not been verified by officials. 

• Darla village in Thailand  

Darla village once was a tourist attraction in Chiang Mai. However, nearly 30 years ago, a tragedy happened in the village, causing an entire family’s death. What’s worse, the murderer hasn’t been found. From then on, Darla village began to decline. Residents moved away because they couldn’t bear such terrible things. Gradually, the whole village turned into ruins.
